Season 2019/2020

Tuesday 17th September 2019

Thank you to all captains/team representatives for either arranging or coming to collect their season booklets, match cards and competition sheets last night at short notice.

Please can all captains/team representatives check their booklets and make us aware of any discrepancies which we can look into and arrange to be updated on the website as soon as possible should this be required.

Just a reminder that the next meeting will take place on Monday 30th September 2019 at Walkers starting 19:30 prompt.  Please can all captains/representatives ensure that the following are brought along to the meeting;

  • Competition Entry Sheets (No entries will be accepted following this date)
  • League Registration & Competition Entry Fees (Should you wish to pay these via bank transfer then please speak with Graham who can arrange for bank details to be passed on)
  • Any additional registrations (You have up to 30th September to add any new players at no extra cost. Any player registered after 30/09/2019 will incur the £3.00 signing on fee)

The draw for the Last 32 of the team competitions will also be handed out at the September meeting. A reminder of the dates for each respective competition is below;
Thursday 10th October 2019 - Team Handicap Last 32
Thursday 24th October 2019 - Team Championship Last 32

Sunday 15th September 2019

Dear all team captains/representatives 
 
We are pleased to announce that booklets are now finalised and with this being the case team representatives/captains can pick these up this coming Monday (16th September) at 19:30 from walkers club.
 
Should any representatives/captains be unable to collect their booklet on Monday, please note that captains of other teams from respective clubs can collect these on their behalf to be passed on. If neither of the above can be done then please contact me directly and I can arrange to drop them off at your respective clubs on Monday or Tuesday evening.
 
Competition sheets for the 2019/20 season will also be handed out with booklets along with match cards and these need to be handed back in at the meeting on Monday 30th September. I will also ensure a copy of these is added to the document library and facebook page. Team captains can email these if easier but will chat with all when you collect your booklets tomorrow.
 
Apologies for the late notice however I have been out of the country on holiday and have literally only just landed as I write this. I have had quite a few emails, phone calls and texts which I haven't been able to respond too so I will get round to these as and when I can.

Tuesday 3rd Setember 2019

As I am sure a few of you are aware all fixtures and team players have been uploaded onto the website under the 2019/20 tab. Please can all team representatives review and if you have any issues/queries please contact the comittee.

Please note some players who have played in the league during previous seasons may be showing as 'New Players'. The reason for this is due to one of the following;

  • Player has not yet particiapted 6 league games therefore still qualifies as a new player until they have played this number of games.
  • Returning player to the league after two full seasons away to have their handicap monitored as per the rule which was voted on at the AGM.

We are very close now to having all the books printed. I am sorry for the delay in not getting a date to collect these out as of yet but this will be very soon. The league season will commence the week of Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th September.

Team Handicap & Team Championship 2019/20

In my initial post a couple of weeks ago I stated that pre-lims would be required for the Team Handicap and Team Championship on 5th and 12th September 2019.

Please note these matches are no longer required as we only have 32 entries into the team competitions so this will now be a straight knockout draw starting at the Last 32 stage (we still have 33 teams in the weekly league fixtures just one team is not entering the team competitons).

The Last 32 fixtures will take place on the following dates and draws will be released at the September meeting;
Thursday 10th October 2019 - Team Handicap
Thursday 24th October 2019 - Team Championship

The team competition events will then revert back to Tuesday evenings after the Christmas break from the last 16 stage.

We will provide all team captains/representatives with league calendar and competition booklets shortly and will announce a meeting date as soon as we know these have been printed and finalised.

Looking forward to getting the 2019/20 season up and running.

Following all entries received we have a total of 33 teams which will compete in the Warrington Snooker League 2019/20 season. With this being the case, the league will once again be split into three divisions as follows;

The first regular league games will commence on Thursday 19th September 2019 and full fixtures will be released in due course to all teams. Full league scheduled including competition dates and meetings will also be released shortly.

Pre-Season Meeting to hand out Booklets

A date will also be confirmed for the final pre-season meeting once we have clarification on when the booklets for the season have been finalised and printed and captains will be informed in due course.
