Scotch Doubles Knockout

Entries are now open for the Scotch Doubles Knockout competition. 

Scotch Doubles is a Pairs competition where each player takes a shot in turn, for example, player A pots a red, player B then plays the colour, if potted, player A takes the next red, etc. 

Entries close on Wednesday 7th January 2026.

Pairs Knockout - Prelim and Last 16 Rounds

Preliminary Round  and Last 16 matches to be played by Wednesday 4th February 2026.

Rules for competition matches are:

• Team Delegates are responsible for ensuring matches are arranged.
• Arranging matches on or very near the ‘Play By’ date is not acceptable, at least 3 days prior should be arranged.
• Failure to play a match by the ‘Play By’ date may result in one or both players being eliminated. Your Delegate should be notified immediately on any issue that may result in the match not being played.
• Failure to turn up to ‘arranged’ matches may result in disqualification.
• Format is the best of 3 frames comprising of 2 players playing four-handed frames. Handicaps are based on a combined value and are calculated by adding the individual handicaps together then dividing by 2 with the handicap rounded UP to the next whole number.  Home team breaks first except at neutral venues where a coin is tossed to determine first break then alternate breaks thereafter.  The order of play shall be determined at the start of each frame and, when so determined, must be maintained throughout that frame. Players may change the order of play at the start of each new frame. Players are not allowed to discuss tactics whilst at the table. 

3-a-SideKnockout - Prelim and Last 16 Rounds

Preliminary Round  and Last 16 matches to be played where possible on Tuesday 9th December 2025. Any Last 16 matches that cannot be played on this date, must be played by Wednesday 4th February 2026.

Rules for competition matches are:

• Team Delegates are responsible for ensuring matches are arranged.
• Arranging matches on or very near the ‘Play By’ date is not acceptable, at least 3 days prior should be arranged.
• Failure to play a match by the ‘Play By’ date may result in one or both players being eliminated. Your Delegate should be notified immediately on any issue that may result in the match not being played.
• Failure to turn up to ‘arranged’ matches may result in disqualification.
• Format is played off full and current handicap over three frames of aggregate scoring. Each frame is played to the black with the team scoring the most points over three frames the winner. If the aggregate scores are level at the end of the match the black ball will be re-spotted and played by the last two players with a coin tossed to determine break. Home team breaks always except at neutral venues where a coin is tossed to determine first break then alternate breaks thereafter.  

Individual Knockout Prelim Round

The remaining matches of the Preliminary Round must be played by Wednesday 3rd December 2025 latest.

Last 32 matches to be played by Wednesday 7th January 2026.

• Failure to play a match by the ‘Play By’ date may result in one or both players being eliminated. Your Delegate should be notified immediately on any issue that may result in the match not being played.
• Failure to turn up to ‘arranged’ matches may result in disqualification.
• Format best of 3 frames to Final best of 5 frames.
• Home player to Break first, then alternate. For neutral venue coin toss to decide who breaks first.
