The following players have registered interest in representing the Warrington Snooker League Team for his years English League Championship. The team will be submitted later this week to participate in the qualifying weekend on 12/13 April at Landywood Snooker Club.

A reminder that all new players must have played 6 league games, existing players 4 league games, to be eligible to play in any competition from the quarter-finals onward, unless approved by the League Committee. Any player who has not played the minimum number of games by the date of the schedule quarter final will not be eligible to play in the remainder of the competition.

Venues will be confirmed later this week. Please can all participants in finals ensure they are at the venue 15 minutes before the start of the match so we can take photos of the finalist with the trophy ahead of the game.

ESPB

A few weeks ago the EPSB contacted me in relation to helping promote our league on their website and socials. Last week (ahead of the league games Iast week) I provided them with the following information which included;

• Results from the 2023/24 season including all winners, payers of the year and high breaks

As we are on the topic of the EPSB, I have contacted them to ask if they would be running the English League Championship again of which we entered a team into last season and they have confirmed 

'We will be running the League Championships again this season.  We felt that it was a great success.

We are in the process of finalising the dates, so please watch this space!'

Like last year, we will be looking to enter one team (if possible two) and we really want to put in the strongest team possible. Should any players be interested then please can you noitfy your captain/team representative and ask them to notify us.

As soon as any further details (dates and venue) have been provided I will post them on here.

There is a meeting due to take place at Walkers tomorrow (Monday 25th) and will start at 19:30 prompt.

Just a notice for all teams who may be travelling to Irlam or back over the next 4-5 weeks. Manchester Road is closed from 7pm-1am I believe towards the roundabout at M6 Junction 21.

We do usually try and leave the Individual Merit until the last game of the season however due to when Easter falls next April and needing a spare week towards the end of the season for any rearranged league matches it would have meant the final would have had to have taken place in May which is late so this is why it is taking place slightly earlier before the end of the season.

Afternoon all,

Firstly can I apologise for the limited communication you have received since the start of the season, the last few weeks and months have been very busy personally and finding time to do the snooker stuff has been hard work.

Going forward, I am going to do a monthly update on the website and facebook page with any important dates coming up and anything that is missing from the previous month (i.e. results or match cards).

Match Cards

As mentioned on the whats app group to all team captains and representatives, please can all match cards now be sent directly to that group instead of being sent directly to me. This allows me to only have to look in one place for the match cards each week when reviewing results and it also allows other teams to see results as they come ininstead of having to ask me how people got on or waiting for them to be put onto the website. As always please ensure at the end of the match that both captains sign the card to confirm the result.
